If I ever had known the time I went there would have been the last, I probably would not have left so early.

Your post made me cry too, thank you for sharing. I wonder how Carol feels after signing away a piece of history. Perhaps it had to be done as she said; but either way, if it were me, spending a dime of that money would make me feel like crap. Lets hope she uses the money to build an astroland 2.Jaredhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16184247713613243148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151054865126026234.post-79593399456971242552008-09-09T02:04:00.000-04:002008-09-09T02:04:00.000-04:00This is sad, indeed--very reminiscent of the trans...This is sad, indeed--very reminiscent of the transition happening in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. The Pavilion (arguably the "Coney Island of the South") oceanfront amusement park recently ceased operations in 2006 to make way for a high-rise condominium/night club complex and the Hard Rock Park (about 5-10 miles inland). 85 years of history reduced to a gentrified "Nostalgia Park" at the local open-air mall!Atarihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10772212065375029560noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151054865126026234.post-995791809592319712008-09-08T18:22:00.000-04:002008-09-08T18:22:00.000-04:00woah.damn brett. you've got a piece of history in ...woah.
damn brett. you've got a piece of history in your soul.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9151054865126026234.post-11670541906278451772008-09-08T17:45:00.000-04:002008-09-08T17:45:00.000-04:00Thank you for this touching report! I don't remember the specifics of the quote I'm about to butcher (including where I got it from) but it says basically that once you have Coney Island sand in your shoes you are never able to shake it off completely. Certainly true for me.Cris Siqueirahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00773893250796537208noreply@blogger.com
